Deep Hanging Out with Malcolm and Friends in Person!

Saturday, July 30th, 2022, 3pm to 4:30pm, in Point Reyes Station, California

Please join California I CAN founder Malcolm Margolin and friends at Toby’s Feed Barn in Point Reyes Station on Saturday, July 30th from 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM for a joyous celebration of his latest book:  Deep Hanging Out: Wanderings and Wonderment in Native California (Heyday 2021).

Special guest speakers who will be in conversation with Malcolm include California Indian cultural leaders Michelle La Pena (Pit River), Gregg Castro (Salinan-Rumsien/Ramaytush Ohlone), Jennifer Bates (Northern Sierra Mewuk) and Theresa Harlan (Tewa/Santo Domingo Pueblo and adopted Coast Miwok), with others to be announced.  

Claire Greensfelder, California I CAN’s Associate Director will moderate and displays and information about California I CAN’s many projects will also be featured.

A special fundraising reception will also be held before the event at 1:30 PM in the Gallery at the back of Toby’s store. This event is hosted by Point Reyes Books with co-sponsorship from the California Institute for Community, Art & Nature and Heyday Books.

In the interest of keeping all of our friends healthy, we kindly request that everyone wear a mask at this event and come prepared to provide proof of vaccination upon entry into Toby’s Feed Barn.
